At Airtight Spray Foam Insulation, we combine hands-on expertise with in-depth industry knowledge. Our founder, Christian Cates, a Jupiter native, has been immersed in the insulation industry for over 25 years—starting at just 15 years old and building his expertise from the ground up.
Bio
Christian Cates began his insulation career in Jupiter, Florida, working part-time in his family’s business while in high school. Summers spent installing and removing insulation provided him with hands-on experience and a strong foundation in the trade.
His passion for the industry continued through college on Florida’s west coast, where he worked for a builder specializing in waterfront home restoration. Here, he encountered South Florida’s extreme moisture challenges, particularly mold growth, sparking his interest in building science and effective moisture control solutions.
After college, Christian returned to the family business, expanding its services to include insulation removal due to pest contamination. He took on greater responsibilities, managing crews, large-scale projects, and homeowner communications. His expertise in insulation and moisture management led him to address some of South Florida’s most complex humidity-related issues, including the Paston Effect.
After years of fixing homes with poor construction, Christian founded Airtight Spray Foam Insulation to take a proactive approach—helping ensure new homes are built correctly from the start. His mission is to set a higher industry standard, preventing the moisture and efficiency issues he spent years repairing, and providing long-lasting, energy-efficient solutions for homeowners and builders.
